Girls may be working on (with a parent) the following try its at home: Hobbies - pg 36 in try it book. #6 will be completed with the group, but they need to complete three other sections of try it and bring in to share, or take photos. All In The Family - pg. 58 again, need to do four sections - we will do section #2 as a group. Point, Click, and Go - pg 162. This is a fairly simple try it that can be completed in a day with a parents supervision. Again, four sections need to be completed to earn try it. They would need to bring in and share what they did with myself and the group. Brownie Girl Scouts Around the World -pg 8 Girls need to pick three of the items to do and then we will do # 5 as a group. Again, bring in the activities for the girls to show me and the group.

The girls do this independently with their clergy overseeing it and will earn a special medal at Large Neighborhood Awards Ceremony in April 2006. Also, 3rd year brownies need to start working on memorizing the Girl Scout Law.
Did You Know ...Girl Scouting reaches one in every nine girls age five through seventeen in the United States?
Did you know that for every 100 girls who join Girl Scouting . . . Four will earn the Girl Scout Gold Award--the highest award for girls. Twelve will have their first contact with a church. Five will earn their church religious award. Only rarely will one be brought before juvenile court. One will enter the clergy. Eighteen will develop hobbies used during their adult life. Eight will enter a vocation that was learned through the badge or patch program. Seventeen will be future Girl Scout volunteers. One will use her Girl Scouting skills to save a life. One will use her Girl Scouting skills to save her own life. That is a pretty good return on an investment in Girl Scouting!
